BCIE Strengthens its 2026 Funding Strategy with Financial Operation in Japan

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) carried out the reopening of a private placement for 15 million New Zealand dollars (NZD), originally issued on December 3, 2025. This operation, conducted in the Japanese capital market, brings the total issuance to NZD 40 million with a five-year maturity. The transaction was backed by Japanese retail investors, a sector internationally recognized for its stability and confidence in BCIE's financial strength. This reopening constitutes the first private placement under the institution's 2026 funding plan, following previous benchmark issuances in public markets for USD 2,000 million and GBP 500 million. The operation aligns with the Bank's financial strategy, which seeks to complement global issuances with actions that diversify markets and currencies, expand the investor base, and optimize funding costs. The confidence placed by investors in this transaction reaffirms BCIE's position as a high-quality credit issuer in the Asian region. The institution highlighted that these types of financial movements allow it to consistently execute its long-term funding strategy. Finally, the entity reaffirmed its ability to secure competitive resources in international markets, with the aim of continuing to drive sustainable development and economic growth projects in its member countries.
