Captain Henry Martín Left Out of Concacaf Match

The coach of the América football team, Javier Aguirre, surprised fans by sending striker Henry Martín to the stands for the first leg of the quarterfinal match of the CONCACAF Nations League against Honduras. Although Aguirre called up 27 players, he can only count on 23 of them in official matches, so Martín was one of the four players cut, along with three other teammates.

According to TUDN journalist, Gibrán Araije, Henry Martín appeared upset when he arrived at the stadium and found out he would not be on the roster. Someone close to the player revealed that Martín felt surprised and upset by Aguirre's decision, as he was not given any explanation regarding it.

Martín's absence was due to FIFA allowing only 23 players on the roster for matches. Aguirre chose to include other forwards on this occasion, leaving Martín off the list. Martín is expected to participate in the return match at the Estadio Nemesio Diez.

Aguirre's decision generated criticism, including that of journalist David Faitelson, who called Martín's exclusion a lack of respect. The journalist expressed his surprise and questioned Aguirre's decision to exclude the América captain for the match.
