Buenos Aires, Dec 3 (NA) - Former advisor to President Javier Milei and head of the digital campaign he mounted for his 2023 candidacy, Fernando Cerimedo, reappeared in Honduras amid the Central American country's presidential election. He is part of the platform of the National Party (PN), which represents the far right and is backed by Donald Trump.
According to information from the Argentine News Agency, so far Honduras has counted 70% of the votes, and the representative of the Liberal Party (LP), Salvador Nasralla, maintains an 18,000-vote lead over his opponent, Nasry Asfura.
In a video shared on social media, the former libertarian is seen explaining the reasons for the delays in the vote count, while also informing that the PN had access to "100% of the ballots" and that their party is ahead of the Liberal Party.
"(The PN) was the only one with 100% coverage in all polling centers, where there was more than one person per table, to ensure that those ballots were sent during the night; others arrived at dawn due to connectivity issues. All political forces participating in the election stated that the system was 'extremely slow' in processing the ballots and getting the results in a reasonable amount of time," Cerimedo explained.
"The Liberal Party did very well, but we have 100% of the ballots, and in our results, the trend is irreversible," he concluded.
"There were more than 100 people typing those ballots," Cerimedo explained. Minutes earlier, the LP had communicated that they were above the far-right space and that, at that moment, both forces were in a "technical tie": "That doesn't exist anywhere in the world, elections are won by a point," the Argentine retorted.
For now, the count has been suspended due to "technical problems" and will resume next Tuesday.
"Until now they say there is a technical tie when that does not exist anywhere in the world, only when there is an error," Cerimedo concluded.
