As part of the 'Plan Firmeza', the Ministry of Public Security, led by Minister Frank Alexis Abrego, is coordinating a comprehensive security plan to ensure safe carnivals for the peaceful enjoyment of the population nationwide. In this context, the Aeronaval is executing the 'Carnival Operation 2026', which will take place from February 12 to 18, with actions for security and maritime, air, and land support. The deployment involves 3,910 units, covering 63 beaches, 15 islands, 11 airports, 34 ports, and 9 checkpoints, prioritizing areas with the highest concentration of people during the festivities. For these tasks, the institution has stated it has a robust operational capacity, comprising 18 aircraft and 28 naval assets, distributed between the Pacific and the Caribbean. This is complemented by boats, patrols, jet skis, ambulances, buses, and land units, which will allow for a timely response to any eventuality, as well as the development of surveillance, prevention, and rescue operations. The Aeronaval invites the population to celebrate responsibly and respectfully, following maritime safety recommendations, verifying weather conditions, using life jackets, carrying communication equipment, first-aid kits, lights, and flares, avoiding alcohol consumption during aquatic activities, and always prioritizing prevention.
